Job Description

Ultimate Staffing is seeking an Automation Equipment Engineer to join a client in Fort Worth. This is a full-time, direct hire position. This is a 100% onsite position.

In this role, you will develop and optimize automation testing processes, implement vision-control systems, and create scalable automation solutions that improve product quality, efficiency, and operational throughput. This position is ideal for an engineer with strong technical capability in automation scripting, machine vision, and system integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and evaluate emerging automation technologies to support product and process improvement.
  • Design, plan, and execute automation testing processes for new and existing products.
  • Develop and integrate vision control programming for automated inspection, validation, and defect detection.
  • Build scalable Python-based automation scripts for test automation and production validation.
  • Prepare and manage test plans, testing documentation, reports, and automated testing environments.

Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-7 years of experience in automation engineering, machine vision systems, and scripting for automated test processes.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Python for automation and test scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with vision control programming (OpenCV, machine vision systems, etc.).
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks, testing methodologies, and system workflows.
  • Understanding of hardware-software integration for automated equipment and testing systems.
  • Ability to create and manage test plans, documentation, and reports.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with robotics or automated inspection platforms.
  • Knowledge of image processing and computer vision algorithms.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Automation Coverage: Achieve =90% automation for applicable testing and inspection processes.
  • Vision System Accuracy: Maintain =95% detection accuracy across machine vision applications.
  • Script Reliability: Ensure automated script failure rates stay below 5% across multiple test cycles.
  • Process Efficiency: Reduce manual intervention by =30% through automation improvements.
  • Documentation Compliance: Maintain 100% adherence to documentation and reporting standards.
